Overview
I designed a 10-page digital brand guideline book for the Ohio Business Energy Partnership (OBEP), an organization dedicated to alleviating energy barriers in the Buckeye State by expanding access to reliable, affordable, carbon-free power. This project was a collaboration with FRINGE22 Studio, which had previously designed OBEP’s website. As a contract designer, my role was to formalize OBEP’s brand system and provide the OBEP team with a clear and comprehensive guide to their existing brand, ensuring consistency across all future communications and website updates. My contributions include:
Providing examples for logo usage, including safe space, positive and negative applications, and do's and don'ts
Naming the brand's existing color palette and outlining their values (RGB, CMYK, and hex), tints, and hierarchy
Detailing which layered brand colors work best for small type, large type, and graphics
Defining font usage details, including case, size, leading, and tracking for eyebrows, headers, sub-headers, and body copy
Creating a naming system and strategic descriptions for graphic and photography elements to ensure consistent visual language
Mocking up branded stationery assets, such as a letterhead, envelope, and business card
Designing and laying out the entire document as an interactive PDF with seamless navigation through hyperlinks
