Overview
On Monday, November 12, Vote Run Lead, Facebook and WeWork hosted a National Town Hall in New York City on women, political power, and the 2018 United States elections. They provided a platform for all to analyze the results, share powerful stories, inspire women for the future, and celebrate the accomplishments of the 210 alumnae who ran for office, of whom 80% advanced to the general election. The event was live-streamed on Facebook and featured sessions such as Veterans Rise to Run, Making History with New Faces of Congress, Front & Center: Women of Color in Government, and more, led by elected officials, organizers, activists, media thought leaders, and numerous Vote Run Lead alumnae.
Women & Power 2018 required a bold and polished wordmark that rises tall and confident, colored in an intense red to blue gradient, to represent the spectrum of political party affiliations and ideologies, as well as invitations, e-blasts, sponsor boards, slideshows, step and repeats, and social media graphics, including a save the date, event promotion, and speaker profiles.
Vote Run Lead and Facebook were presented with the opportunity to continue the necessary conversations the following spring through a mini-version, in-person town hall and live stream, so I created updated postcards, flyers and slideshow images with the SXSW® logo, and proposed a blue sky idea of a branded, adjustable cap, as the dedicated stage was outdoors and among competitive surroundings in terms of merchandise.
